Wilma Jean Rhoton Thompson, 77, of Tompkinsville passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Metcalfe County as the result of an automobile accident.She was born April 3, 1937 in Monroe County, KY to the late Elbert Rhoton and Annie Estelle Savage Rhoton. She was a homemaker and a member of Freedom #2 Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Truman Ray Thompson who preceded her in death on November 16, 2011. She is survived by one son: Derek Thompson and wife Katrina of Tompkinsville,one grandson: Jordan Thompson, one brother: Elbert Rhoton, Jr of Greenwood, IN,three sisters: Bernadine Copass of Gamaliel, Judy Melton of Moss, TN, Peggy Coffelt of Tompkinsville.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Chloe Smith.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 AM at the Freedom # 2 Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe County with burial to follow in the Freedom #2 Cemetery.Visitation will be after 11:00 AM on Friday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Freedom #2 Cemetery.
