Wilma Joyce Anderson

Mrs. Wilma Joyce Anderson, age 82, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Monroe County Medical Center. Wilma was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on December 20, 1941, to the late Ben & Lela Anderson Melton. She married Clint “Joe” Anderson, he preceded her in death on February 24, 2016.  Wilma was a devout member of Turkey Neck Bend Church of Christ and a retiree of Red Kap Industries.

She is survived by her son; Dr. Jack Anderson and wife Melanie of Tompkinsville, two daughters; Sharon Murray of Burkesville, and Karen Bartley and husband Ricky of Tompkinsville. Seven grandchildren; Thomas and Beth Murray, Chelsea Hammer, Caleb, Mattie, and Sophie Anderson, Matthew Bartley and wife Heather, along with three great-grandchildren, Anderson and Zayden Hammer and Rosie Bartley also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Clint “Joe” Anderson, three brothers; Thomas Melton, James Melton, and Ervin Melton, four sisters; Betty Mae Cravens, Anna Melton, Juanita Cain, and Bebe Fay Daniel and her son in law, Jerry Murray.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning after 9:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. Fowler Ross will officiate the services.
