Willie Coe Short

Mr. Willie Coe Short, age 76, of Hestand, Kentucky passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Hestand, Kentucky on October 28, 1946, a son of the late Alex and Annie (Tade) Short. He married Carolyn Hurd on March 15, 1968.  Willie Coe was a lifelong farmer, and logger until his retirement in 2014.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Carolyn Ann (Hurd) Short, one daughter, Amanda Birge and her husband Randy, of Hestand, two granddaughters, MaKayla Birge, and Aleda Smith and her husband Garrett. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Short, and his siblings, Alvene Poindexter, Kathleen Baxter, Nadine Short, And Billy Joe Short.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in The Bailey Cemetery.  Bro. Darrell Bartley will officiate the services.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again, on Thursday morning from 8:00 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
