Obituary Steven Basil Turner, 64, of Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home.He was born July 15, 1950 in Glasgow, KY to Bela Basil Turner and the late Lester Thomas Turner. He was a retired independent helicopter mechanic, of the Baptist faith and a US Army Vietnam Veteran.He is survived by his mother: Bela Turner of Tompkinsville, one son: Steven Scott Turner of Ft. Run, one sister: Theresa Deckard and husband Jerry of Tompkinsville, three nieces: Leslie Barlow and husband Paul, Lori Rolke and husband Trip, Marci Turner and one great nephew: Duncan Barlow.In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother Lester Tommy Turner.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
