Sarah Edith Dicken Martin, widow of Jesse Marrs Martin, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 97.
Sarah was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on February 14, 1926. The daughter of the late Leslie Ephraim Dicken and Georgia Lillian Pruitt Dicken, she was retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and was a member of Holly Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Hutcherson (Bobby) and Sheila Ashley (Michael); a son, Beverly Martin (Chris); four grandchildren, Jennifer, Natalie, Angie, Dylan; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Milo, Nora, Hunter, Preston, Reeselyn and Jace; a special caregiver, Angie also survives.
Sarah was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbye Martin; two grandsons, Philip Martin Robertson and Lincoln Robert Hutcherson; a sister, Evelyn Gentry; and four brothers, Willie Jeff Dicken, Leslie Ephraim Dicken, Jr., Joe Smith Dicken, and Leslie Dewey Dicken.
Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort from 4:00 to 6:00 pm EDT on Monday, June 5th.
A graveside service will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Tompkinsville at 12:00 pm CDT on Tuesday, June 6th, with arrangements by Bartley & Sons Funeral Home.
