Mr. Richard Allen “Ricky” Turner, Jr. age 64, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. Ricky was born in Tompkinsville on July 2, 1960, a son of the late Virginia Nell (Lee) and Richard Allen Turner. He was a 1978 graduate from Gamaliel High School and retired from Stitches Manufacturing after over forty years. Ricky was a devout member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, a forty-year member of The HAM Henderson Lodge #515, and a Shriner. When he wasn’t farming, Ricky enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Brenda Turner of Tompkinsville, his wife, Kitty (Fox) Turner, of Tompkinsville, five children; Richard Allen “Trip” Turner, III, Rylee Allen Turner, Justin Smith and wife Mary Kathryn, Brock Smith, and wife Kerrie, and Zach Ethridge and wife Ashley, his siblings; Rondal Turner and wife Melissa, Scott Turner and wife Amy, and Kari Hutchison and husband Scott. Eight grandchildren: Brentin Bell, Ella and Willow Turner, Parker, Kendlyn, Rachel, and Paxston Smith and Drake Ethridge, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family also survive.
Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Nell (Lee) Turner, and a daughter, Shilo Jade Annell Turner.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Tim Britt and Brian Fox will officiate the services.
Masonic Rites will be performed at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from Noon until 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to HAM Henderson Lodge #515.
