Obituary Richard Lan Baskett, 55, of Gamaliel, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, on his farm, the result of a farming accident.He was born August 6, 1959 in Tompkinsville to the late Minta Converse Baskett and Randall Baskett. He was a farmer and a member of Gamaliel Baptist Church.He is survived by his father and step mother: Randall and Shirley Baskett of Gamaliel, two sons: Dustin Baskett and wife Valerie and Codey Baskett all of Gamaliel, one brother: Steven Baskett of Mt. Hermon, two sisters: Diana Bowles and husband Larry of Mt. Hermon, Kimberlin Baskett Brown and husband Tony of Gamaliel, two step sisters: Debbie Crowe and husband Eddie of TompkinsvilleJo Ann Brown and husband Rickie of Tompkinsville, one grandson: Emmitt Lan Baskett.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 6 at 1:00 PM at Gamaliel Baptist Church in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery.Visitation will be after 5:00 PM on Thursday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel and the body will lie in state after 8:00 AM until time of service on Friday at Gamaliel Baptist Church.Memorials are suggested to Gamaliel Cemetery or Gamaliel Baptist Church.Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel in charge of arrangements.
