Randall Earl Hedges Jr.

Obituary Randall "Randy" Earl Hedges, Jr., 56, of Gamaliel, KY, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born May 29, 1957, in Daviess County KY, to Randall Hedges and Joan Hedges, and he is older brother to Fran Floyd and husband Mark, all of Sebree, KY. He married Brenda Michelle Roberts on August 15, 1981. He is the father of two sons, Michael Hedges and wife Jamie of Conway, SC, and Daniel Hedges of Lexington, KY. LaRue and Lane Hedges, of Conway, SC, are his grandsons. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. His courage and strength will be forever in his family's hearts, and he was an ordinary man who accomplished extraordinary things. He loved and is beloved by all. Randy spent his career in law enforcement and retired as a Major for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. He was an avid outdoorsman, Jeep enthusiast, and member of Central Baptist Church in Paris, KY, where the family resided for many years. Visitation will begin Saturday, January 25 at 9:00 AM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel, KY with services to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Clementsville Cemetery immediately after. A celebration of Randy's life will be held in his hometown of Sebree, KY, at First Baptist Church on Sunday, February 2 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Randy be honored through a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, Nightlight Christian Adoptions, or a charity of choice.
