Obituary Paul Ray Lee, age 82 of Gamaliel, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Saint Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on May 15, 1938, the son of the late Adrain Bertie and Laura Cly (Gee) Lee. He was a member of the Gamaliel United Methodist Church. He retired from the Monroe Board of Education in 2003, where he was a bus driver and farmed. Paul was a City Councilman, Gamaliel Cemetery Trustee, MCWD Commissioner, and a member of the Democratic Committee. He enjoyed golfing, UK Basketball, and hosting Bluegrass Music Night at Gamaliel. He is survived by one son, John Lee of Antioch, Tennessee; one daughter, Ellen Releford of Monteagle, Tennessee; two sisters, Betty Sue Wallace and Lora Ann Paige. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Maines Lee, and the mother of his two surviving children, Nancy Hughes Lee, and one son, Derek Ray Lee; one sister, Virginia Nell Turner. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Anderson-Bartley Gamaliel Chapel, with burial in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Paul Mills and Ronnie Turner will officiate the service. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, and again on Thursday, October 1, 2020, after 9:00 AM until time for the services at 2:00 PM. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gamaliel Cemetery in memory of Mr. Paul Lee. These Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
