Patricia Ann "Patty" Wood

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Patty” Proffitt Wood, age 68, of Elsberry, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021, at her home in Elsberry. Patty was born in Xenia, Ohio, on July 31, 1953, a daughter of the late Louis Edgar, and Martha Maxine Kerr Proffitt. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Arkansas State University, Patty later earned her Masters Degree at Missouri State and was employed by The State of Missouri for many years. Patty was united in marriage to Richard Lynn “Rick” Wood on September 12, 2015. She was a member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ.

Other than her beloved husband, Rick, of Elsberry, Missouri, she is survived by two sons; Carl Patrick Goist, Jr. of Cassville, Missouri and Eric Raymond Goist of Mount Vernon, Missouri; two daughters; Rachel Michelle Williams of Hoover, Alabama and Leah Elizabeth Goist, of Elsberry, Missouri, two brothers; Michael Louis Proffitt, and wife Susan of Glasgow, Kentucky, Jeffrey Alan Proffitt of Las Vegas, Nevada, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents; she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica Danielle Goist in 2015, and one brother Timothy Lee Proffitt in 1998.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, Missouri.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at The Isenberg Cemetery with Interment to follow. Pastor Eric Guffey will officiate.

In lieu of flowers; the family suggests that memorials take the form of donation to The Alzheimer’s Assocaition in care of Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, 204 Columbia Avenue; Tompkinsville, KY 42167.
