Mr. Norman Dewayne Fox, age 80, of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee passed away at his home, on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born in Casa Grande, Arizona on April 25, 1941, to the late Norman D. and America Josephine (Holland) Fox. On November 8, 1963, he married the love of his life, Joyce M. McCarter. Joyce preceded him in death on October 28, 2021. After graduating high school, he attended Trinity College in Florida for one year before coming back to Nashville and earning his degree in Ministry. Norman was called to preach at 16 and served Corinth Church of Christ for more than thirty-five years. He and his wife owned and operated Fox Wholesale in Hermitage Springs for many years before retiring in 2018.
He is survived by one son; Dewayne Todd Fox and his wife Kim of Lafayette, Tennessee, one daughter; Aleatheia “Charlie” Cherry and her husband William, of Hermitage Springs, four grandchildren; Kaden and Shawnee Fox, Alivia Jones, and Audreia Gentry, one great-granddaughter Aubree Goad. Six brothers; Rodney, Terry, Doyle, Danny, Tony, and Neal Fox, five sisters; Myra Long, Linda Dicken, Nelda Ritchie, Laura Ford, and Kitty Turner; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister; Pamela Fox, a sister-in-law; Sheila Fox, three brothers-in-law; J.E. Dicken, Joel Isenberg, Willie Long, and a nephew Eddie Dicken.
Funeral Services for Mr. Fox will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville after 9:00 a.m. and after 8:00 on Monday morning until the time for services at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to The Lewy Body Dementia Foundation in memory of Mr. Fox. Memorials may be made at the Funeral Home.
