Nelda "Sue" Marcum

Mrs. Nelda Sue (McCreary) Marcum, age 86, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. Sue was born in Tompkinsville on December 24, 1937, a daughter of the late John Kurtley and Ruby Mae (Dyer) McCreary.  She retired from Western Electric Company in Indianapolis, before moving back to Monroe County.  She was a faithful member of Rock Valley Church of Christ.  

She is survived by four children, Cheri Dawn Marcum, of Clarkesville, Tennessee, Michael Dean Rush of Indianapolis, Regina Gephart of Orlando, Florida, and Pauletta Kim Marcum of Leesburg, Florida. One sister, Jacqueline Alexander of Austin, Texas, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and feline companion Evie also survive.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Rich Marcum, five brothers, Lenneth, Stone, Cecil, Howard, and Eugene McCreary, and four sisters, Josephine Price, Vonda McCreary, Louise Pitcock, and Lois Mansfield. 

The family has honored Sue’s wishes to be cremated, and buried alongside her family in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  No services are scheduled at this time.
