Mrs. Mary Ruth (Miller) Crowe, age 90, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, surrounded by family. She was born in Rockbridge, on June 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Josh and Doris (Isenberg) Miller. Mary Ruth graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1950 and married Eston Cornell “Cork” Crowe on August 11, 1950. Cork preceded her in death on November 12, 1988. She and her husband owned and operated Crowe’s General Sales for several years, they also built several houses throughout Gamaliel and the surrounding area. Mary Ruth was a member of Beautiful Home Missionary Baptist Church, and for the last few years had been attending Maple Grove. She enjoyed traveling, acrylic painting, was a huge sports fan, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Mary Ruth is survived by one daughter; Kathy Grace, and her husband Garland of Bowling Green, seven grandchildren; Andrea Candace Gray Curtis and husband Jimmy of Tompkinsville, Joshua Garland Grace and wife Amanda of Nicholasville, Amber Victoria Karen Gearlds and husband Lyndon of Tompkinsville, Mary Kathryn Grace Turner and husband David of Bowling Green, John Jacob Huford Crowe and wife Kellie of Lexington, James Zachary Grace and wife Jennifer of Bowling Green, and Joseph Dustin Cornell Crowe of Tompkinsville. Fourteen great-grandchildren; Emma Grace Turner, Grant Turner, Eli Gearlds, Graydon Turner, Alexander Curtis, Logan Grace, Saylor Grace, Sawyer Grace, Ava Grace, Owen Crowe, Benjamin Curtis, Will Crowe, Easton Grace, and Savannah Grace, one brother; Charles Miller and his wife Carmen of Louisville, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive.
Other than her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons; Don Elliot Crowe, and John Cornell Crowe, and three brothers; Wallace Miller, Joe B. Miller, and Eddie Paul Miller.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crowe will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Beautiful Home Cemetery. Bro. Mark Copass, and Bro. Shannon Arnett will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 24, 2022, from 3 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday morning from 8:00 until time for services at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to Beautiful Home Cemetery in honor of Mrs. Crowe.
Pallbearers will be: Josh Grace, Zack Grace, Jacob Crowe, Joseph Crowe, Jimmy Curtis, Lyndon Gearlds, David Turner, and Chas Miller.
