Mary Alas Bean 91, of Tompkinsville passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.Mary Alas Bean 91, of Tompkinsville passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.She was born January 16, 1926 in Monroe County to the late Millard Thompson and Effie Copass Thompson. She was a retired factory worker for Key Manufacturing and a member of Beautiful Home Baptist Church. She was married to Jess Bean who preceded her in death on January 4, 1985.She is survived by one step son: J.T. Bean of Tompkinsville, two sisters: Martha Brown and Sally Page both of Tompkinsville, 7 step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers: Jim Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Joe Thompson, and Jack Thompson, one step daughter: Corinne Wilson.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 23 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Harlan's Crossroads Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday and after 8:00 AM on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Harlans Crossroads Cemetery or Jane Yokey Cemetery.
