Marlin Carter Gillenwater, 68, of Tompkinsville, passed from time to eternity on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, following an extended illness. While in the company of his loving family.He was born April 12, 1948 in Monroe County, KY to the late Dale Gillenwater and Callie Deckard Gillenwater. He was a lineman for Tri County Electric for several years, a construction worker, farmer and a horse and mule enthusiast. He was a member of Freedom #2 Missionary Baptist Church.He is survived by one son: Mark Gillenwater and wife Mary of Franklin, TN, three daughters: Alisa Melton and husband Alan of the Oak Grove Community of Clay County, Heather Dunham and husband Elder Greg of Westmoreland, TN, Amanda Leach of Celina, TN, one brother: Billy Gillenwater of Tompkinsville, six grandchildren: Carter, Samuel, and Annie Gillenwater, Callie and Caitlin Dunham and Dylan Leach.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Joe and Freddie Gillenwater, two infant brothers, one sister: Elane Coffelt and son-in-law: Dave Leach.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 26 at 3:00 PM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Beautiful Home Cemetery.Visitation will be after 2:00 PM on Saturday and after 8:00 AM on Sunday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel.Memorials are suggested to the Beautiful Home Cemetery.
