Lou Ann Bartley, age 68, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Monroe, surrounded by her family. Born the daughter of the late Eddie Veachel and Nadine (Short) Spear on November 25, 1956, at War Memorial Hospital in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Lou Ann was known for her infectious smile and her life-long passion for storytelling.
A proud graduate of Tompkinsville High School, Class of 1975, Lou Ann possessed a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She touched many lives throughout her career, making lifelong friends everywhere she worked. Her dedication to her family was evident in all she did, particularly through her love of cooking, which continued even after her children had grown and moved out. Lou Ann also cherished antiquing, alongside her dear friend Jessie Dubree, traveling many miles to find Jadeite Glassware to enhance their collections.
After her retirement, Lou Ann and Randall enjoyed several years of blissful living together on Dale Hollow Lake, creating lasting memories.
Lou Ann's legacy is carried forward by her husband of fifty years, Randall, and their six children, Jeremy Bartley and wife Tishia, Benji Bartley and wife Brandi, Lisa Copas and husband Chance, Lori Emmert and husband Kelly, Michael Bartley, and wife Cari, and Chris Bartley and wife Lindsay. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Skylar, Bailey, Sawyer, Brinley, Cailee, Mason, Korbin, Sterlin, Michael, Levi, and Kellen. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Marlee, and her brother, Larry Spear, and wife Patty, of Sonora, Kentucky. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Veachel Spear and Nadine Spear, and one grandson, Carson Gil Hernandez.
