Judy Faye Stinson Myatt

Judy Faye Stinson Myatt, age 81, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. Judy was born on February 19, 1941, at home in Akersville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clovis and Kalsie (Shaw) Stinson. She graduated from Gamaliel High School in 1959 and married the love of her life Darrell Myatt, on August 1, 1959. After 38 beautiful years together, Darrell passed suddenly in 1997. She spent her working years at several of the factories in Monroe County, including Keys, Stitches, and Gamaliel Apparel.

Ma Judy, as she was affectionately known by many, had a special love for her family, especially her four grandchildren and most recently, her two great-granddaughters. So, her retirement years were spent watching the grandchildren in their many activities. She enjoyed seeing all four of them graduate with honors from their schools. In her time alone, she read thousands of books and loved completing dot-to-dot puzzles and keeping up with friends on Facebook. Judy was saved at a young age and was a lifelong member of White Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two children, Jesse Myatt and his wife Sherry of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Glenda Myatt Reid and her husband Jim of Glasgow, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Hailey Myatt Parks and her husband Matt of Cleveland, Tennessee, Holden Myatt of Hermitage, Tennessee, Mason Reid and Griffin Reid of Glasgow, Kentucky; two great-granddaughters, June Magnolia Parks and Dinah Grace Parks of Cleveland, Tennessee; one brother, Darrell Stinson and his wife Sondra of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Myatt Crabtree and her husband Leon of Gamaliel, Kentucky and Jean Gearlds of Martinsville, Indiana; and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel with burial to follow at the Harlans Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022, and again on Sunday morning after 8:00 am until the time for the services.

Pallbearers: Holden Myatt, Mason Reid, Griffin Reid, Jason Pennington, Thad Myatt, Sam Petersen, and Greg Crabtree.

Honorary pallbearers: Leon Crabtree, Dale Petersen, Darrell Crowe, and Matt Parks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the TJ Samson Hospice or Harlans Crossroads Cemetery in honor of Judy and can be made at the funeral home.

Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Myatt and her family during this time.
