Obituary
J.T. Cloyd, 82, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, November 24 at his home.He was born June 12, 1933 in Monroe County, KY to the late Edd Cloyd and Mucie Hammer Cloyd. He was a retired State Highway Department worker and a member of Beautiful Home Baptist Church. He was united in marriage on June 21, 1956 to Wilma Graves Cloyd who preceded him in death on February 15, 2011.He is survived by one son: James Cloyd and wife Sandra of Tompkinsville, one sister: Mary Ann Hale of Lafayette, TN, two brothers-in-law: Raven Graves and wife Carolyn of Red Boiling Spgs., TN, Eddie Graves and wife Jeanette of Mt. Hermon, several nieces and nephews, who were very dear to his heart, also survive.In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six brothers: Willie, Truman, Roy, Frank, Edward and John Clifton Cloyd, five sisters: Bassie Spear, Essie Mae Cloyd, Nina Alice Cloyd, Louise Hammer and Ila Eunice Cloyd and a brother-in-law: Denzil Graves.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 28 at 1:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.Visitation will be after 1:00 PM on Friday and 7:30 AM on Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Old Mt.
