John David Veach, age 59, of the Hestand Community, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at Baptist Health in Elizabethtown. He was born on December 17, 1961, the son of the late Elbert “Hoss” and Margaret Lewis (Marshall) Veach. He was united in marriage to the late Margaret Beth Duncan on April 4, 1986, Beth preceded him in death on February 17, 2016. He was a member of Ft. Run Old Missionary Baptist Church. John David was an employee of the Monroe County Justice Center and enjoyed farming, UK sports, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by one daughter, Chandra Walker and husband Trent; one son, Sawyer Veach; one grandson, Jack Duncan Walker; two brothers, Marshall Veach and Kelly Veach and wife Judy; four nieces, Vanessa Veach, Chasity Lowery, Melinda Wiley and Michelle Hamlet; a special friend Carol Finley also survives.
In addition to his parents, and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Calvert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Baxter Cemetery. Bro. Billy Harrison will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning after 8:00 am until time for the service.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Baxter
Cemetery in memory of John David Veach.
For the protection of Mr. Veach’s family, it is kindly asked for everyone coming for visitation and the service to abide by the family’s wishes of wearing a mask and practice social distancing.
