Obituary John Clifford Spears, 81, of Hestand, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. He was born August 2, 1933 in Monroe County, KY to the late James Frank Spears and Virginia Iva Ree Dyer Spears. He was a retired truck driver. He was united in marriage on May 4, 1954 to the former Thelma Rhoton who preceded him in death on April 10, 2003. He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law: Ruby Jewell and Kenneth Edwards of Radcliff, KY, one brother and sister-in-law: Cornell and Susie Spears of Avon, IN, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by five brothers: Claude Allen, Arlie, James Estes, Esco and Wallace Spears and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM on Tuesday until time of service at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Memorials are suggested to the Bailey Cemetery.
