Joan Philpot

Mrs. Joan (Jennings) Philpot, age 90, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at her home. Joan was born in Lebanon, Tennessee on March 20, 1934, a daughter of the late Wiley and Ada (Rankin) Jennings. Joan was a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ, she retired from Monroe County Medical Center, where she was a Registered Nurse. Joan enjoyed flower gardening and being outside, and Bridge night with the ladies. 

Joan is survived by a son, Lee Philpot of Hendersonville, Tennessee, a daughter, Stephanie Philpot of Bellevue, Tennessee, one brother, John Jennings and wife Jerelyn, one niece, Jeanna Morris and husband Randall, one nephew, Brad Jennings, and one great-niece, Marley Morris, all of Hendersonville, Tennessee. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Philpot, and four brothers; Wiley, Joe, Doug, and Bob Jennings. 

Graveside Services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Dr. Tony Carter will officiate the service. 

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday morning after 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. 

Pallbearers: Johnnie Paul Nixon, Spencer Nixon, Corey Nixon, Luke Nixon, Terry Arnett, and Scott Rush

Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Bryant, Windell Nixon, The Bridge Club Ladies, and Dr. Anthony Carter.
