Obituary Jimmie Carter Rich, Sr., 74, of Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.He was born December 8, 1939 in Monroe County, KY to the late Hulet Rich and Ova Grace Rich. He was a retired auto mechanic and of the Baptist faith. He was united in marriage on October 7, 1971 to the former Katherine Harris.He is survived by his wife: Katherine Harris Rich of Tompkinsville, one son: Jimmie C. Rich, Jr. and wife Alisha of Tompkinsville, one daughter: Becca Bryant and husband Terry of Tompkinsville, one brother: Porter Rich of Red Boiling Springs, TN, four grandchildren: Jacob and Josh Rich, Cory and Brooklyn Bryant.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Fred, Willie, Elzie, Jasper, Murphy, Frank and Walter Rich, four sisters: Lillie Copass, Evie Curtis, Lydia Durham and Julia Rich.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Moore Cemetery in Clay County, TN.Visitation will be after 2:00 PM on Saturday and after 7:30 AM on Sunday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
