Mrs. Jessie Pearl (Sheffield) Curtis, age 86, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Saint Thomas, Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee. Jessie Pearl was born in Tompkinsville on July 24, 1938, a daughter of the late Claud and Lucy (Proffitt) Sheffield. She was a 1957 graduate of Tompkinsville High School. She married Walter Leroy Curtis on September 5, 1959, he preceded her in death on March 25, 2016. Jessie Pearl was a devout member of Tompkinsville First Baptist Church. She served Monroe County for twelve years as Circuit Clerk and enjoyed watching University of Kentucky Basketball and was an avid Tennessee Titans Football fan.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Sheffield and wife Teresa, Danetta Wilson and husband Steve, and Dennis Curtis and wife Beth, grandchildren, Jonathan Sheffield and wife Teresa, Jamie Bryant and husband Rodney, Leslie Wheeler and husband Jordan, AJ Page and husband Jeremy, Joseph Wilson, Kaitlyn Hammer and husband Ryan, and Brilee Irvin and husband Derick. Great grandchildren, Tucker England and wife Sable, Branton Bryant, Whitley Stone and Shelba, Tate Sheffield, Tahlia Sheffield, Rhett Hammer, Lennox Page, Wade Hammer, Noah Irvin, Emilia Wheeler, and Blaine Irvin, and three great-great grandchildren, Upton England, Hallie Mae Stone and Banks England also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Bro. Mark Hopper and Pastor Deven Smith will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
