James David Willis

James David Willis, age 61, of Burkesville, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Cumberland County Hospital.
Born November 14, 1961, he was a son of the late James Franklin “Jimmy Willis and Artha Bell (Long) Willis Holland.
He worked as an Aerial Lift Trimmer for W.A. Kendall and Company and had recently retired. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.

He was recently baptized at the Waterview Church of Christ by Bro. Todd Bryant.

Survivors include his beloved partner of over 25 years, Sonja Carrow, her son Shaun Carrow; a brother, Henry Willis (Faye), Burkesville; a sister, Janet Willis Sanchez (Egar) Somerset; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Patty (Willis) Groce; brother Clyde Willis; his grandparents Ray and Pansy Thacker Long, Lloyd and Maymie White Willis, and many other beloved family members.

Cremation was chosen and burial will be in the Perkins Cemetery, Burkesville.
A Celebration of Life is planned in the near future.
