Obituary James Robert Thompson 87, of Tompkinsville passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his residence in Tompkinsville.He was born March 10, 1930 in Monroe County to the late William Thompson and Bedie Ford Thompson. He was retired from Corharts Refractories. He attended Mill Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by three daughters: Sue Floyd and husband Kurt of Louisville, KY, Lana Armes and husband Bill of Fairdale, KY, Kim Mumford and husband Jerry of Pioneer Village, KY; four sisters, Ruby Jones, Ersie LeMaster, Adalene Walden, all of Louisville, KY, Wanda Ford of Taylorsville, IN, 7 grandchildren, Tabitha Vize, Chris Floyd, Tommy Floyd, Teylor Thompson, Trevor Armes, Drew Mumford, Brittany Mumford, and 9 great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymon Thompson, Truman Thompson, Frank Thompson; one sister, Ruth OllerVisitation will be Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday, June 5 after 7:30 AM until time of service at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 5 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Jane Yokley Cemetery.
