James Harmon Hays

Obituary James Harmon Hays, 85, of Tompkinsville passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born August 15, 1928 in Monroe County, KY to the late Jack Hays and Ruie McPherson. He was owner and operator of Hays Dental Laboratory and a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ. He was a US Navy Veteran of Korean Conflict.He was united in marriage on August 8, 1953 to Dorothy Wimpy Hays who preceded him in death on October 31, 2007. He is survived by two daughters: Patty Rich of Tompkinsville, Ruthie Jones of Cincinnati, OH, one sister: Cletra Head of Tompkinsville, 4 Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers: Dr. Joe Hays and Julius Hays. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 3 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and after 7:30 AM on Thursday at Strode Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Dorothy Hays Scholarship Fund.
