Iva Jean (Wisdom) Smith

Iva Jean (Wisdom) Smith, age 85, of Fountain Run, Kentucky, passed away on January 30, 2023, at NHC Healthcare. She was born on March 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Charlie Edward and Bertie B. (Matthews) Wisdom. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and sewing.

She is survived by one son, Joe Smith of Fountain Run; two daughters, Barbara Wood of Fountain Run and Sharon Propes and husband Jeff of Glasgow; a special nephew, Eddie King and wife Serena; two brothers, Harold Wisdom and wife Vicky of Tompkinsville and Darrell Wisdom and wife Joyce; one sister, Charlotte “Charles Ann” Beck and husband Sam of Tompkinsville; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred G. Smith; three daughters, Joyce Ann Smith, Lori Lynn Smith, and Betty Simmons.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Gene Gearlds will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning after 8:00 a.m. until time for the service at 2:00 p.m.
