George Kirk

Mr. George Kirk, age 83, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Monroe County Medical Center. George was born in Tompkinsville, on February 2, 1942, a son of the late Austin and Vera (Tooley) Kirk. George was a jack of all trades, he ran the Barbecue for several years, and worked HVAC, before retiring from being a Mechanic. George enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and hunting and fishing. He was a member of Milltown Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Panquita Tooley Kirk, five stepchildren: Marshall Dan Tooley, Stephanie Ann Tooley, Sherry Denise Tooley, Danny Lewis Tooley, and Mike Hammer and wife Barbara, all of Tompkinsville. Nine siblings; Audrey Dean Kirk of Tompkinsville, William Kirk and wife Mable of Scottsville, John Kirk and wife Donna of Smiths Grove, Patty Kirk of Bowling Green, Dinea Kinser of Lafayette, Indiana, Maureen Bradshaw of Bowling Green, Rita Brodus of Bowling Green, Mary Kirk of Scottsville, and Paul Kirk of Scottsville. Several grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Quinten Kirk and Ernie Kirk, and four stepchildren: Wendy McClendon, James Emerson Tooley, Mary Geneva Hamilton, and Mickey Jerome Tooley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Old School Cemetery in Fountain Run. Bro. Mike Turner will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Donzell Shirley, Shawn Shirley, James Davin Tooley, Deshawn Johnson, Roho York, and Jamarion Hamilton.
