Obituary
George Elsworth Emberton, 73, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was bon January 5, 1941 in Monroe County, KY to the late Samuel Oscar Emberton and Mandy Strode Emberton. He was a retired maintenance worker and farmer, a member of the Church of Christ and was a US Army Veteran. He was united in marriage on August 25, 1973 to Joan Gail Radtke Emberton who preceded him in death on April 17, 1997. He is survived by one son: Michael Dean Emberton of Tompkinsville, one daughter: Mandie Darlene Lambirth of Edmonton, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers: Wiley Cecil Emberton, Phillip Eagle Emberton, Cletas Ray Emberton and Teddy McAuthor Emberton and one sister: Drucella Belle Emberton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 5 at 1:00 PM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Brown Cemetery in Monroe County. Military rites will be performed at Graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 4:00 PM on Thursday and after 7:30 AM on Friday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel.
