Geneva Murphy

Geneva (Rhoton) Murphy, age 86, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. She was born on August 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Lolo and Effie Mae (Ford) Rhoton. She was a member of Mt. Poland Baptist Church. She retired from Dollar General Store and worked as a cook at Joe Harrison Carter Elementary School.
She is survived by one son, Greg Murphy of Tompkinsville; one granddaughter, Hannah Murphy of Hestand, Kentucky; one sister, Juanita Goode of San Antonio, Texas; her beloved dog, Sparky also survives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Truman Marrs Murphy; and one son, Ricky Dale Murphy; one brother, James Edward Rhoton.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Bro. Terry Mahaney will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning after 8:00 AM until the time for service.
Bartley & Sons Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Geneva Murphy.
