Dr. Frank Maxey Petett, Jr. age 59, and his wife Tracy Lynn Petett, age 56, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Clay County, Tennessee. Max was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on June 29, 1965, a son of the late Frank and Frances (Farmer) Petett. Tracy was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on March 30, 1968, a daughter of the late Bobbie Joyce Jones. They were both members of Rockbridge Missionary Baptist Church. They enjoyed spending their free time on Dale Hollow Lake, and spending time with their children and families.
Tracy was a 1986 graduate of Monroe County High School, and was a Registered Nurse at Monroe County Medical Center. Max was a 1984 graduate of Tompkinsville High School, and had a PhD in Educational Leadership, and was currently serving as Principal at Jackson County High School.
They are survived by their children; Parker Petett and wife Alexis of Bowling Green, Spencer Petett and wife Cassie of Smyrna Tennessee, Hunter Coe and husband Tim of Somerset, Brooks Murphy and wife Haley, and Braden Murphy and companion Landri all of Tompkinsville, three grandchildren; Paxton Crue, Stormy Ann, and Camilla Elizabeth. Max’s siblings; Lisa Davis and husband Mike, Connie Anggelis and husband Chris, Regina Sullivan and husband John. Tracy’s Aunt, Demetria Finley along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by Max’s brother, Curtis Edward Petett.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Bro. Jim Finley will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday after 8:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tracy’s memory may be made to the Loving Loic Foundation. Donations in memory of Max may be made to The Backpack Program.
