Frances Arms Gamble

Ms. Frances Arms Gamble, age 80, of Hestand, KY passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She was born in Proctor Creek, TN, on January 2, 1942. Frances will be forever remembered as one of the original and longest-lived BBQ restaurants and traditions in Clay Co, TN, and Monroe Co, KY, which continues to live on today. Many of the BBQs in the region have ties that originated with ‘Frances BBQ’. She is remembered as an icon in her community for her kindness and generosity for all the meals and contributions that she provided to local families in need over the past 5 decades that were mostly hidden from the public. For the hundreds of employees that worked under her care, she instilled the motto “The customer is always right!” Frances was a member of Moss Church of Christ and Hestand Church of Christ.

She is survived by her two sons, David Arms of Hestand KY, and Victor Arms (Karen) of Franklin TN. Her grandchildren include Chad Arms (Ashley), Sara Arms Neal (Andrew), and Sydney Arms, along with numerous great-grandchildren. Her siblings include Pat Bebout (Ron) of Hestand KY, Mary Strong (James Martin) of Moss TN, William Head (Sandra) of Summer Shade KY, Robert Walker (Sue) of Gallatin TN, and Ralph Walker (Charlotte) of Hendersonville TN. She has several nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Gamble; one brother, Billy Walker.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral home with a burial to follow at the Moss Church of Christ Cemetery, Moss TN.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will also be on Saturday, July 16th from 8:00 am to 11 am.
