Dora Dean Pruitt Steenbergen, 89, of Scottsville, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.She was born November 22, 1925 in Allen County, KY to the late Hershel Pruitt and Nellie Tabor Pruitt. She was a retired factory worker for G. E. and a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of John Ewell Steenbergen.She is survived by one son: Miles Steenbergen of Antioch, TN, one daughter: Shelia Steenbergen of Madison, TN, one brother: William "Bill" Pruitt of Indianapolis, IN, special friends: Carolyn Keen, Cindy Hendrix, Gordon Dextron, also sweet friends and neighbors.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers: Jewel, Weldon, Artie, Excel and Deward Pruitt, two sisters: Gladys Keene and Carrie Tidd.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 16 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville with burial to follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Thursday and after 7:30 AM on Friday at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville.
