Mrs. Connie Sue Shive Smith, age 74, of Hermitage, Tennessee, formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her daughters’ home. Connie was born in Tompkinsville, on June 16, 1950, a daughter of the late Otha D. and Era A. Turner Shive. She was a Title Clerk for 25+ years before retiring, and was devoted to her family.
She is survived by three daughters; Michelle Smith and husband Pete Venable of Panama City, Florida, Heather Knott and fiancé James Judkins of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Monica McCarthy of Spring Hill, Tennessee. One brother, Welbie Shive and wife Janice of Indianapolis, Indiana, seven grandchildren; Cecilia Pierce, Luke McCarthy, Dawson Venable, Kinsey McCarthy, Ashley Knott, Colton Knott, and Ashlyn Knott. Six great-grandchildren; Wyatt, Elijah, Phoenix, Echo, Honor, and Wilder Pierce also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Keith Shive and his wife Linda, and one sister Leoma Shive White and husband Harlie.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Bro. Danny Pace will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
