Charles Phillip Rhoton of Evansville, Indiana passed away at his home on Friday December 29, 2023, at the age of 55. He was born on July 9, 1968 to Charles Claude and Cassie Lorine (Walker) Rhoton in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. He always had a beautiful, dimpled smile that would let you know that he was your friend. His love for math and science is what drove him to strive for greatness in his field of Psychiatry. As a child in school, he excelled in his studies.
In 1986, he graduated from the first graduates of Monroe County High School as an honor student with a 4.0 GPA. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Biology in 1991. He worked for the Kentucky State Laboratory in Frankfort, Kentucky for two years before attending the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He graduated from UofL in 1997. C. Phillip Rhoton received the PGY-2 Pfizer Inpatient Psychiatry Award from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his residency in psychiatry in 2001. He joined the doctors at Deaconess Crosspoint in 2001 and was the Director of Adult Services at Deaconess Crosspointe in Evansville, Indiana at the time of his death.
He had been actively involved in Matthew25 as a board member and a volunteer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Grandparents Henry Clay & Myrtle B. Rhoton and Clurie C. & Ollie Mae Walker, and his beloved dog children Abby, Cassie and Sam Walker.
He is survived by Life Partner Brent Suits of Evansville, Step-Son Dirk (Daylinn) Suits, one Grandson Jace Suits of Mt Vernon, one brother, Christopher Rhoton of Lafayette, Tennessee, two nephews; Austin and Ryan Rhoton of Gamaliel, one sister of choice; Sandi Powers of Evansville, One Brother of Choice Jackie M (Sharon) Walker of Tompkinsville, 3 Nephews of Choice Matthew H (Morgan) Walker of Tompkinsville, Trent C (Chandra) Walker of Hestand, and Keaton C (Shelby) Walker of Bowling Green, One Great Nephew of Choice Jack Duncan Walker of Hestand, One Great Niece of Choice MaKenna Pearl Walker of Tompkinsville, and One Uncle Lowell D (Betty) Walker of Gamaliel.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation with the family at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY on Saturday January 6th from 3:00pm – 8:00pm and January 7th from 8:00am until time of his service at 2:00pm located at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
Interment to follow at Old Mount Hermon Cemetery in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.
