Obituary
Blanche Harvey Grider, age 77, of Mt. Hermon passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at her home. She was born in Allen County on March 21, 1943, to the late Ish Wilkerson and Sally (Woods) Wilkerson. Blanche retired from the US Postal Service and served as the postmaster at the Mt. Hermon Post Office until 2014. She loved working in the garden and flower beds, being outside, and anything that involved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald Grider of Mt. Hermon; one son, Craig Grider and wife Christy of Mt. Hermon; three grandchildren, Mikayla Walden and husband Ben, Maddie Grider and John Dicken; three sisters, Jessie Green and husband Kenneth of Ohio, Josie Elmore of Glasgow, and Margaret Paris of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jewell Hurt; four brothers, Jay, Freddie, Hascal, and Dascal Wilkerson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Anderson-Bartley Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
Graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Lawn in Glasgow.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Sunday morning after 9:00 AM until time for the service at 1:00 PM.
Alternate expression of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mrs. Blanche Grider.
