Bernice (Pruitt) Hammer

Bernice (Pruitt) Hammer, age 82, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Signature Health Care of Monroe. On January 17, 1940, she was born the daughter of the late Ebb and Dora (Dixon) Pruitt. She married Douglas Evans Hammer on June 13, 1970, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2018. Bernice was a member of the Tompkinsville Church of Christ.

One daughter survives her; Mary Hammer of Tompkinsville; one son, William Hammer of Cave City; two sisters, Mary Wilson and Nancy Bray both of Tompkinsville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2022, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial in the Basil-Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday morning after 8:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm.
