Anna Jean Emmert Thompson, 84, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.She was born December 19, 1931 in Monroe County, KY to the late Rasmus Hunter Emmert and Lottie Ella Tooley Emmert. She was a retired garment factory worker. She was united in marriage on May 24, 1947 to Clint E. Thompson who preceded her in death on May 21,1971.She is survived by four sons: J.E., Jackie, Larry and wife Debbie and Michael Hunter and wife Doris Thompson all of Tompkinsville, three daughters: Betty Jean Davis and husband Roger of Bowling Green, Beverly Ruth Thompson and Stacy and husband David Miller all of Tompkinsville, one sister: Evelyn Pitcock of Ocala, FL, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son: Mark Thompson, five brothers: John Veachel, Reed, R. H., Wayne and David Morris Emmert.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 29 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Jane Yokley Cemetery.Visitation will be after 11:00 AM on Thursday and after 6:00 AM on Friday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Jane Yokley Cemetery.
