Ann Beth Moore

Ann Beth Heilman Moore, age 86, passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven, on January 12 at her home. She was born to Lester Elliott and Mary Marshall Thomas Heilman in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on October 5, 1938.

Ann Beth married Carol Cook Moore on March 13, 1954, and they were married for 50 years until Carol passed away in 2004. Their love for each other was a great testament to the generations to follow in the family. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, a great cook and a wonderful and loving mother. Her work experience included many jobs such as stockyard clerk, USPO employee and bookkeeper of her family business, Heilman Drug Company. She had many other business ventures including rental property, a short term rental vacation property, working with her neices building a local business and dealing in her antiques. She worked as a tax preparer for Taylor, Polson and Company for over 40 years.

The Moores loved to travel and were able to go to many states and countries. Ann Beth was a collector of paintings, furniture, jewelry and "stuff". When confronted with her propensity to accumulate closets and drawersful of things, she would remind the confronter that she did not drink and to leave her alone. She was a lover of the French country style and made several trips to France to purchase furniture and unique items. She had this inventory shipped back to the states, cleaned it up and sold it at tag sales. She enjoyed knitting sweaters, beading and making jewelry, and spending time with her family.

In 1955, Ann Beth was saved and joined the Tompkinsville Baptist Church. She has said that her ministry was supporting her husband in his many jobs in the church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Andrea Moore McAlpin and Mary (Donnie) Marshall Peden. There are 5 grandchildren, Hillorey (Dallas) Carnahan, Leslie (Josh) Ulrich, Caitlin (Matthew) Brown all of Tompkinsville, Dustin (Lindsey)Peden of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Andrew (Haley) Peden of Gamaliel. Eleven great-grandchildren survive. Also surviving are two nieces Mary Tim Smith and Jonnie Beth (Richard) Hammer of Tompkinsville and one nephew Thomas (Kelley)Heilman of Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her loving son, Mark Douglas Moore, two brothers, Tim Marrs Heilman and James Elliott Heilman, and a son-in-law, Gordon McAlpin.
