Obituary Alma Maxey Rowland, 82, of Tompkinsville, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville.She was born May 29, 1932 in Hermitage Springs, TN to the late Dillard Maxey and Laura Creveston Maxey. She was raised by her great aunt and uncle Will and Mae Maxey Chandler. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ. She was united in marriage on September 23, 1951 to Kenneth Rowland.She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Rowland of Tompkinsville, three sons: Chan Rowland and wife Beth of Manakin Sabot, VA, Gary Rowland and wife Brenda, Larry Rowland and wife Donna of Tompkinsville, special friend: Sharon Emmert, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son: Barry Rowland.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 31 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial LawnVisitation will be after 5:00 PM on Saturday and after 7:30 AM on Sunday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Neal Cemetery or Mt.
